Illustration Friday-Multiple
The above image IS NOT MY ENTRY. Click on the image to see my animated entry for IF's "multiple" topic. Multiple views... It cycles over at the end, after about 5 seconds.
This is an animated GIF. Want to try something grander later, like something coming out of the box, but due to limited time, I wanted to get this done, and posted!!! I know the last frame is a bit anti-climatic, which I hope to rectify, but that's all I had time for. This piece took me about 4-5 hours of totally cranking! The line work that I do takes time.
Been super busy lately! Which is great. Seeing a lot whales and dolphins too in my free time as a new volunteer naturalist for Channel Island National Park and Marine Sanctuary. Someday soon whales and dolphins may be creeping into my work. Hmm...
*****Edit: Posted a new, more exciting version in place of the boring first one*****

I was really waiting for somthing to jump out of the box. good work.
Very nice! Your hands look good as still art, but really cool when animated. Great job!

You ALWAYS have something so interesting and unusual. This one takes the cake.

Hot damn, that's nice! =)
That's a great idea, but I have to admit... I did say 'oh' at the end, being that there was no present in the box! What a rip! That's OK, I'll let you off because it's super cool anyway AND you put in 5 hours AND whales and dolphins must be more exciting than sitting behind a computer. ;-)
its very cool and a great hand. We'll let you off with nothing popping from the box, probably would have taken another 5 hours!
so nice!
Spinal Tap!!! Genius.
and nice animation... ;-)

Handora's box!! Super stuff Scott! And I'm thrilled for you regarding the volunteer job. What a great opportunity to be so close to those creatures.

Very cool.
You would make a great storyboardist for Flash. Do you do that already?
Your line works are always amazing!
Very cool Scott, as always!
Nice surprise Scott. I like how the box spins. Great work! It would be neat to see dolphns and whales. I enjoyed your photo's so much.

Nice to see a bit of illustration/animation in i.f, or illustranimation as I've just christened it!!!
What a great take on the topic, you get my Oscar! As to your Q on my blog, yes, those Bobs... I'm a fan from way back.
This is so cool, what a fun format to try, and it works great with your art! And I am jealous of your volunteer job, that sounds AMAZING...I need to find something like that to do!

oh WICKED COOL, SCOTT! love love love the fingers...the grainy-ness and then the "pop" of the box! more more animated scott! :)))
Nice animation. I certain a hand was going to pop out of the box. Great line work as always.
I was certain one of those hands was going to pop out too, but it is admirable work!
Great Scott! I love this animated GIF!!!!
(^v^)
Thanks for visiting and your kind words!
Great piece. Dig the animation. I'd like to dip my toe in the motion water someday...
The line is from Meet the Parents. It's when Owen Wilson's character states that he salvaged wood found in an old seaman's chapel in Nantucket as they walked through his house...
excellent idea, once again, so glad you are getting involved in your whales work, can't wait to see some art work. oh yes, thanx, my side of the pond is all fine.
Really nice graphic style, interesting animation.
Thanks for your comment too btw!
your stuff is never boring!
Great fun! Look foward to se your dolphins and whales
Hey, Scott, thanks for the funny comments on my blog, I really like your animation and am looking forward to your expanding subject matter, I like the sea critters...
This is great, made me think of Pandora's box.
These sorts of animation are a really nice way of doing something a bit different within the sphere of illustration... and this is really nice work.
I'm looking forward to seeing the sea-life stuff too.
As always Scott, I really appreciate the kind comments you left on my blog, encouragement from talented people is the best sort of motivation.
Great and very interesting work!
These illustrations with hands as object make me thinking, your interpretations are always so deep.
Hey, is that illustration of you your entry???Just messing with you...I really like the animation...especially the turning of the box...looks like the start of a video and would really like to see further development of it! Fits well with your hand projects!
That was clever! Haven't seen an illo like that yet!
Hi!
How fun to animate your illustration! I was approached by an animator recently about animating my illustration. I'm really excited at the prospect.
Great work as always!
