Love

Click image for a larger view.

I was inspired by wedding news!

I painted two hearts and cut one vertically and one horizontally and wove them together. Then painted a background which was a b&w printout of roses with a color wash painted over. Painted scraps for a frame. Tweaked in Photoshop till I was happy with it.

Feedback welcome.

I am so glad that you made this I was worried that you were going to say it was created digitally and my eyes are telling me this was lovingly made by hand! Oh good my eyes don't deceive... Beautiful and sweet!!!

This is great! So creative, and your use of photoshop is superb, I can't really distinguish what you've done with the digital additions, it's so well integrated.

This is just great! I really like the texture and the color composition. It was really wonderful how you blended the two hearts together! What kind of tweaking did you do in Photoshop?

I also just loved your "Change" composition. I ditto all the comments including the one about carrying the one branch to the left. That was such a great idea and you executed wonderfully! I also will not look at other's ideas. I have that same rule. The only problem with that is that if I don't post till Sunday night then I don't get to see many people's illo's. I have the world's slowest internet connection (we're in the middle of no where and are too cheap to pay for satellite internet!!) I go "dark" during the week because I have a job that I can't connect to the internet for personal purposes, long hours and a 2.5 hour commute. Luckily today I got home a bit early so I can surf (slowly) a bit.

Keep up the fantatic work - I love looking at your art - it is very fresh and clean and I wish I had half of your talent!

Darn it! I tried to comment earlier today and apparently it didn't get through.

Just wanted to say I really love this particular piece of work. It's so beautiful and the time and effort put into it makes it all the more gorgeous.
Simply stunning.

Beautiful texture, beautiful use of colour. I'm getting over a broken relationship at the moment and this serves a reminder that life really does go on ...

Soooo cool! This reminds me of construction paper placemats we used to weave when we were children. Not that your art is primitive or childlike, it just brought back a good memory! Thanks for your nice comment on my "Change" illustration.

I like the whole thing, the weaving together and the imperfections are attributes of love. Nice subtle coloration, too.
