Illustration Friday-Emergency
Click image for a larger view.
This is my entry for IF's "emergency" topic. Photographed my hand with duct tape, then drew the lines and shapes in Freehand. I then painted a background on the inside of a grocery bag. I combined everything in Photoshop! Duct tape is wonderful stuff for many of life's emergencies.
I should be able to post regularly now I'm done feeding hundreds of hungry boyscouts for the summer. More on that later, if you're interested.
Also, click on my profile, and then find my photoblog for some pictures of Orcas and Humpbacks from my Alaskan cruise. There are some photos of Humpbacks doing "bubble net feeding", which was incredible to see firsthand.
I look forward to visiting your IF entries this next week, as I now have more time...

nice concept and execution. i am envious of good "hand artists"!
Nicely done. Duct tape is amazing stuff. My craziest use was taping gauze to the bottom of a horse's hoof.
I wish I could do hands like you. I love all your illustrations! Colorfull and creative.
Thanks for your comment on my blog, Scott.
Lol. Nice job. Duct tape is great for anything!
How right you are, I just fixed the vacuum cleaner's hose with duct tape!
Great effect - the background, the type and drawing - they go together so well!

Duct Tape, as all good Canadian's know (at least those who watch the Red Green Show), is the handyman's secret weapon - especially for staving off an emergency situation.
Perfect! Duct tape is the cure all for many things. Great illo, too.
Nicely drawn arm & hand. Great line work, good colour; excellent illo.
Hey Scott,
How many Photoshop layers on this one? :)
