Illustration Friday-Homage
Click images for a larger view.
This is my entry for IF's "homage" topic. Will probably do another variation, but wanted to get this done and up on Friday!
Edit: Added the second image with the Campbell's soup can label...
Had the most amazing trip to the Baja in Mexico. You WON'T BELIEVE my photos! You must look. Whale hugs. I've only got time to post a few photos there for now. Much more to come soon.
Just getting over being sick, got lots more ideas for homage... Fortunately, got sick after my trip!

Terrific illustration.
I hope you get better soon. I'll have to take a look at those photos!
This is great, Scott, I like the colors.
I couldn't agree more ... this is a terrific piece and a wonderful take on the theme.
Hola! Hmmm , very subtle
A really great take on homage, sure hope you're feeling better.
Clever stuff - your work always makes me think and that is a very powerful skill. Nice mix of your style with Warhol's... like the muted palette too.
Hope you're feeling better - I've mised your posts!
Good for you! I always get sick ON my trips... I like the way you've kept the colours muted to match your style instead of opting for Warhol-in-your-faceness.
I always love your pieces. Thoughtful & lovely use of colours on this one.
Nice entry. I'm sorry you got sick, but glad it was after your trip! I'll check out the pics later. ;-)
Hope you feel better soon...I love this homage!
Nice work, as usual. Clever homage.
an amazing piece! And Tomato is my favorite! I've loved it since I was a kid.

wharol was a master indeed!
smart take on topic and perfectly done as usual.
Both great pieces, I really like the 4 panel illo with your colour choices. Thanks for including a link to your whale encounter, how amazing!
Very cool as always!
More interesting and attractive than Warhol's 'originals'!
Nice hands as usual. Nice "homage" the Pop master. Good to see your work again; I have not been by for a while.
Great work!
You know Scott each time I come to your blog I always think I like the one I am looking at better than any other. And it is no different this time. I love this one! It is so clever!
You did a great job technically as well as creatively!

ha ha this is so funny,a lot of us paid homage to famous people, you do it to the good old campbells! smart thinking.....hope you will be well soon. hugs.
Nice work Scott. I really like how the colours work in the four panels.
hey Scott! Really like your hand series and your 'Multiple' post is really cool :)
For Homage, I really like that you've added the lines on the label to show that it has been pasted on the can. Really good!
hey scott. this is really good. and you know i am a fan of Andy. remember the portrait of him i did with all the stippling? crazy. i almost posted it again for HOMAGE. my h.s. art teacher made an arm band of soup labels as a tribute to him the day he died.
anyway, love your illustration. ah! and you STILL incorporated hands. you are amazing!
