I love this one, Scott. The texture is especially interesting, and the point of view is dynamic. I just found out why whales have those lines on the bottoms, they are throat pleats that allow the throat to expand.
These colors are so peaceful and I like the way the water has so much variety and depth.
Now I want to see an expanded version *:)
Thanks, Ginger! The whales with lots of ventral grooves belong to a family called "rorqual". Blue and fin whales are rorquals. Gray whales are not rorquals, even though they do have just a few throat grooves. I just heard that gray whales are in Montery, CA, heading this way. That means an extra early migration! They usually get here, Ventura, CA, about Christmas, but might be much earlier than that.
nice graphic feel to this- great colors!
I love the canvas texture and the different angle. Definitely feel like I'm beneath the thing. Such a feeling of serenity, too.
I love the gradations of color and the perspective.
