Illustration Friday-Cracked

This is my entry for Illustration Friday's "cracked" topic. Perhaps a little dark, but it ain't all sunshine, flowers and butterflys all the time now is it?
What do you do when your hopes and dreams don't seem to have worked out?
Per my usual M.O. created the lines in Freehand, painted a real background with paint and paper, and brought them together in Photoshop!
Any regular IFer's...feel free to find me on Facebook too. Link on the sidebar.

Hi Scott!!!
It's been ages since I saw a new post here....so glad to see you posting again!!!
I love it...but I always think that anything is possible and dreams always come true in my worlds...even though they are made up!!!
Cheers,
Diana
those awesome hands again...
dreams can come true, just as wishes can, we just need to know how to make it happen and make it work
Wow this is so very powerful and beautiful. I adore the color and it really speaks to me as an artist! Great work.
this is beautiful. i'm always inspired when i see your work.
Its like the song Dreams don't always come true. Great illo. Thanks for the comment on mine.
hey scott..long time no see!!! how you've been? great post as usual! take care.
I'm loving the orange! Very nice!
Hi Scotty! Your image is awesome and incredible colours and a meaningful message! Sometimes dreams are dashed, it hurts real bad and we move forward although we want to lay down and put the covers over our heads... but maybe the dream will live on and manifest itself in a new and wonderful way :)
yes i am so thrilled to see you back with us on IF, welcome friend, how are the whales?
thank you for the comment on my piece. Love the use of hands on your pieces. Very clever and such an interesting theme!
Keep your hands creating more hands, lol they're quite amazing.!
Great work, amazing hands. Your site is wonderful!
Powerful work. A seemingly darker take yet with nice hopeful colours. I like your mix of media.
I too am always inspired by your work. :) I don't know how we move on after broken dreams...slowly and painfully sometimes. Just seems that one day you wake up and you don't think about it as often and it fades. I know it takes years however for some people or circumstances.
I hope this isn't a real life play out on paper. :) If so, keep on trucking...it will get better.
As always, I love your hands and thanks for your comment on my IF. Somethings just aren't right, you know? LOL
beautifully done!
nice concept scott, yea sometimes we feel like that when upset...but life's usually getting better. :)

Answering to your question and looking at your drawing...I would focus on the uncracked dreams and hopes and handwrite a few more. Good concept!

Your descriptor was pretty good...but you left off fuzzy kitties which is a complaint I have seen leveled against IFers for several years now...Great color pop on this one and glad to see you back...
Been ages since I've been here, thought I'd just have a random look. Glad I did, goodness I just want to rub those hands all over me. Wait, no I don't, that'd just be weird.
Anyhoo, impressive illustration yet again!
I always love stopping by your blog.
Great work, as usual!
Oh, EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT Scott!!! Haven't seen you in the longest, good to see you back!
great illustration! it's been a while since your last post...
Fantastic! I like the message, it's a good reminder when we've trailed away from our dreams. Yet, you make it with bright colors, to bring us back.... thanks!
Really quite cool.
I really like the font that you've used for the lettering.
