Illustration Friday-Wise

Click image for a larger view.

This is my entry for IF's "wise" topic. All done today, Saturday, about 5 or 6 hours of steady work. Drew my lines in Freehand, collaged and painted the background and assembled and colored in Photoshop. The collage includes text about wisdom and the value of being wise. And books often contain great wisdom!

I've missed participating in IF the last few months and hope will try to be more regular.

Thanks to those of you who "followed up with me"!

um, sorry about that!! It's hard to avoid nipples when you have women models in figure painting...but now my first post is a snowman..aka more g-rated.
Now...about your illustration: I love the texture you are getting with the background, and your idea is just wonderful!

Hey, way to bring the true meaning of wisdom into your illustration. I'm particularly fond of the passages that talk about what's counted as foolishness in order to confound the wise.

I've always liked how you and others like you were able to disguise the blending of textural surfaces, both manually and digitally.

Well done.

beautiful! (as always) The hands are perfect, I like the angle of the book, it makes the whole illo quite alive, without bringing too much action into it. (My English isn't that good, I hope you understand what I mean).
Nice to see something for IF again on your blog!

I think someone could say about this illustration that you're thinking outside the box, or the book.

Very good - very creative.
