Illustration Friday-Fierce

Click image for a larger view.

This is my entry for IF's "fierce" topic. Dolphins, cute as they are, can actually be quite fierce! Sharks are afraid of dolphins!

Haven't done an illustration for a while. Been busy.

Created this for IF today. I think I could have chosen a better angle perhaps, but it's done, and I'm posting it.

Was on the ocean yesterday and saw three different kinds of dolphin: common dolphin, Pacific white-sided dolphin, and Risso's dolphins. Plus I saw four humpback whales, and scads of sea lions.

Beautiful lines as always! I think if the dolphin's head were a little more in profile it might help with the angle issues?

So great to see your art again Scott! Hope you are up to good things and having fun :) I love the texture and the angle is fine. Sometimes when i visit a friend in Malibu he has a telescope set up and i'm always amazed at how much dolphin activity is going on out there, it is so awesome. I would like to be a dolphin :)

Great Illustration Scott! Dolphins can really mess up a shark. The dolphins will pummel a shark in the gills until they can no longer breathe. Thanks for posting a dolphin design!

I love it. Lots of meaning behind this too - since we do hold the fate of so many of the worlds creatures in our hands. Simple yet very effective.
