Illustration Friday-Opinion

Click image for a larger view.

This is my entry for IF's "opinion" topic. I've done few illustrations with this little box. I think I'll rework them into some sort of cohesive story.

So what's your opinion on what's in the box?

It's usually the big questions hidden in the smallest boxes.

Great illustration - maybe you've got a BIG question to ask someone!

Hi Scott,

before I read yr explanation, I saw it as if the man was offering his opinion, which he doesn't give of to often therefor making it special and a gift.

great illustration!

can only consent with muualla :-)
i envy you for your style, i admit. i have no idea how to produce such stuff digitally - i am a dreadfully old-fashioned analogue nut, at times exploring the unknown depth of photoshop and ai *g*

The composition here is very dynamic. I am not sure you intentionally put the different color key on the box or not. But it works, it pops out from the background and with the help of the hand, it pops even more. For me, even though the box is small, it is the main focus of the illustration. I suggest you can put more similar images together to make a strong statement of the idea behind, just a thought.

Color, color color! Beautiful colors and composition. I love your exploration of the box and all of the possibilities that the box can contain!

Fantastic concept. I love the idea of the box and how ambiguous it is. It can be a stand-in for so many things. And, like opinions, seems like it's been offered regardless of whether or not it's welcomed. Plus, your work is always beautiful.

your hands are better and better all the time...so animated. i'm not just saying anatomically realisitic...i mean there's something alive about them.

(and not in a creepy way. ROFL)

Good things come in small packages, just like this illustration. The color compliments work great, along with the composition, background texture, designs the hand creases make, and varying line widths. I think this is outstanding. :)

I like the angle/perspective on this one. The background also turned out nice.

Hey, Scott! Happy New Year! I haven't frequented the old IF haunts much this past year, but I'll try to get around more this year. This box could fit the 'clandestine' topic from the last challenge of '08 very well.

Hope all is fine in your life.
