I think this is great Scott! Great use of texture and color, and the light reflection in the eye is cool too!
I really like the color combo of the skin [texture+color] and the background. Amazing depth you achieved!
I really like this. You portray such a lot with such a small part of the monster. The eye is amazing. Very cool!
the eye is great..and the texture too...he looks really scary!
Scott this is great but I challenge you to take it to the next level. Create a full monster picture using this style. arms legs flames little children running in fear
Yeah, I agree with artbeard! Go, Scott, go!
Quiet a leap in style here, yes, but great work!

Whoa! I really like this. It's fun seeing a different Scott. Sometimes we have to shake things up a bit. Makes me want to try to draw a monster now. I don't find him menacing, I find him friendly. (Which I like!)
My thought on it, fantastic!
OOOooooooooOOO!!!! Hey, you should step out of your comfort zone more often! This is really great. Love the textures, the colors....and the BIG yellow EYE!
This is neat, and somewhat enigmatic; I'm not sure whether this is a nice monster or an evil one.
I agree with everybody else. Your venture from the comfort zone turned out great. You can tell you had fun.
I like how you stepped out of that zone. Can you submit this to Penelope for the Monster mash contest? It's excellent and very original.
Love the texture on him !!
Mesmerizing, Scott. The texture of skin is so reptilian!
Hi,
Congratulations with your nice illustrations. I'm looking around on the web to get some ideas about the possibilities in digital illustration. I wondered how did you obtain that gradient from white to transparent in the eye. Is it possible in Illustrator CS3?
cheers,
Rebecca
